food donation

where we donate

We donate fresh produce from our markets to local organizations that are committed to fighting hunger and increasing food access in Whatcom County. Local partnerships like these strengthen the resiliency of our local food systems — getting fresh produce into the hands of as many residents as possible, while minimizing waste.

foothills food bank

We proudly donate produce to The Foothills Food Bank, which distributes healthy, nutritious food to more than 250 rural Whatcom County families and individuals every week.

The Foothills Food Bank also offers home delivery service for homebound seniors and other people who aren’t able to come to the food bank.

Their Winter and Spring Pantry Program provides supplemental kid-friendly snacks and meals for low-income elementary school students to help prevent hunger over Winter and Spring breaks.

sea mar food farmacia

Sea Mar Community Health Centers’ Food FARMacia program provides patients with access to free, fresh produce.

Through donations from Twin Sisters Markets and others, Sea Mar has been able to provide patients with access to produce they may not be able to purchase due to economic barriers amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Food Farmacia program gives patients the opportunity to try new vegetables by providing a variety of items every week along with information that helps patients experiment with new foods more confidently.
