Anaïs Forster moved to Whatcom County from Germany in 2015. Anais got her start in farming working for local veggie growers for several years before launching her own flower farm, Goose Creek Flowers, in 2023. Anais grows gorgeous flowers on half an acre in Everson, WA using organic methods.

Sonder farmstead

Sonder Farmstead & Herbal Apothecary is starting its second growing season growing vegetables on a half-acre at Cloud Mountain Farm Center’s “Incubator Farm” site in Everson, WA.

Owner Em Blood grows a wide variety of veggies, as well as herbs and flowers for her cold processed soaps and salves. Em’s focus is on no/low-till farming and holistic methods - working the land with hand tools and organic practices.

Lummi seafood market

Lummi Seafood Market owner Terry Phair has been providing a venue for local fishermen to sell their catch, while providing affordable seafood products to the public since 2017.

TIERRA Y LIBERTAD

Coopertiva Tierra Y Libertad is a farmworker-owned collective growing ethically produced berries, nopales, chilacayotes, and eggs on 65 acres in Everson, WA.

Worker-owner Ramón Barba Torres co-founded the cooperative in 2019 with a commitment to provide pesticide-free, humane working conditions while strengthening local families and the local economy. The Co-Op uses 100% organic farming practices as they complete the organic certification process.

MARIposa farm

Mariposa Farm grows Organic vegetables and berries on 8.5 acres in Everson, WA. Owners Lis and Joaquin Lopez named their farm after the Monarch butterfly that travels between Canada and Mexico guided by nature — the family realized their dream of owning their own farm after moving to Whatcom County from Mexico nearly two decades ago.

FarmWild grows pasture-raised chickens, eggs, turkeys, and pork using innovative and ecologically sound principals and practices. Owner Brian Rusk focuses on the health and well-being of the animals and the environment, which leads to healthier people and a better world.

Vertical Fog Farm grows certified organic greens and mixed vegetables in Everson, WA , specializing in ready-to-eat cut lettuce mixes and spinach.

Owner Rob Jordan is dedicated to growing high quality, delicious and nutritious food for Whatcom County families.

winding road farm

Winding Road Farm grows peaches, pears, plums, apples, and cherries using organic practices on their 20 acre farm just north of Bellingham.

Owners Ryan and Martha Smith got hooked on farming after interning together at Everson’s Cloud Mountain Farm Center. They continue to plant hundreds of fruit trees every year while restoring their beautiful property, which was fallow and overgrown when they bought it in 2017.

Alluvial farms

Alluvial Farms raises pastured Berkshire hogs on 45 acres in Everson, WA. Owners Katie Pencke and Matthew McDermott went hog wild with the idea of creating a system where the hog could be honored for its service to humanity with a high-quality life that includes the full expression of pig-ness.

In 2020 Matt and Katie began growing their own organic grain to include in their pigs’ diet, and in 2021 launched a self-care line of products based on Organic CBD distillate grown on-farm, and Alluvial’s own lard.

Spring Time Farm is a family farm growing Certified Organic vegetables & flowers in the fertile soils of the Nooksack Valley (Everson, WA). Wife and husband team Sarah and Nick, along with a small crew, grow 15 acres of vegetables.

Spring Time’s mission is to grow high quality food while providing good jobs and enhancing the farm’s ecosystem. They have been Certified Organic since 2013, power 75% of their farm's electrical needs with solar panels, and every year add to their perennial hedges and plantings for both habitat creation and sales.

Brackenshire Farm is a small flower, vegetable, and herb farm located in the South Fork Nooksack River Valley.

Farmers Rhiannon and Alex use ecology-based, regenerative practices to produce fresh bouquets, dry flower wreaths, and high quality produce for their community.

CLOUD MOUNTAIN FARM CENTER

Everson’s Cloud Mountain Farm Center is a nonprofit teaching farm dedicated to building knowledge, experience, and community to expand dynamic local food systems. CMFC envisions a thriving, collaborative community in which regional agricultural business are prosperous and contribute to a healthy environment and the well-being of all citizens.

Founded in 2011 the farm center serves the food system as a whole by educating and empowering consumers, home gardeners, new farmers, and existing commercial producers. Located on a 42 acre production farm, orchard, and nursery provides an unparalleled learning environment and opportunity for applied research.

SMALL ACRES FARM

Small Acres, a founding member of Twin Sisters Markets, is a certified organic 5-acre family farm near Nugents Corner, WA. Owners Mia Devine and Chris Henderson’s goal is to provide nutritious food while maintaining the health of the soil and the environment. Their farm is almost entirely powered by renewable energy, using wind, solar, and biodiesel systems. Small Acres produces a diverse array of vegetables, fruit, fermented products, eggs, and luffa sponges!

Tucked in between Sumas River and the Cascade Foothills, Sumas River Farm is a Certified Organic farm growing mixed vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers.

Here, owner Helen Solem cultivates two acres of what was once a lake bed, maintaining native habitats for windbreaks and pollinator habitat, including a 1000-foot riparian zone.

CAscadia mushrooms

Cascadia Mushrooms is committed to providing the finest gourmet and medicinal mushrooms available, and nurturing the curiosity and wonder that mushrooms awaken in others.

Owner Alex Winstead has grown the business from its humble start in his basement in 2005 to the large-scale North-Bellingham organic mushroom producer it is today — serving dozens of local restaurants, organic food grocers, and farmers markets from Bellingham to Everett, WA.
